BEST OF 3: Lorraine Rugman, Book Blogger (@reviewcafe)

    1) My Girl by Jack Jordan

30109213WHY I LIKE IT:  I loved My Girl, it had all the ingredients I love in a crime thriller!  The first couple of chapters of My Girl certainly contained “the shock factor” and I was concerned that it would lack substance, and would be more about shocking the reader. But I’m pleased to say I was completely wrong, I found My Girl to be a chilling and a captivating read. Yes, it was shocking and very disturbing in parts but it did add to the plot making for a riveting read. Read my full review, HERE.

30323037._UY200_2) The Night Stalker by Robert Bryndza

WHY I LIKE IT: I’m a huge fan of Robert Bryndza’s crime series featuring Detective Erika Foster, just when you think his books can’t get any better he proves you wrong. The Night Stalker surpassed my expectations, from the tense opening chapter my heart was in my mouth, and it remained there until the nail biting climax. Check out my full review, HERE.

253167493) White Is The Coldest Colour by John Nicholls

WHY I LIKE IT:  White Is the Coldest Colour is a thought-provoking, dark and disturbing psychological thriller and one that gave me nightmares, long after I finished it. This book takes you deep into the thoughts of Dr David Galbraith … To the world he presents himself as a highly trusted and respected child psychiatrist, happily married with two daughters, but the reality? Galbraith is a sadistic predatory paedophile. Read my full review, HERE.

    1. Hi Lorraine,

I am also the wrong side of 50 and book and coffee addict. My taste in books is also the same as yourself….bordering on obsessional Unsurprising though as I’m a retired police officer.

I’ve enjoyed reading your reviews and look forward to reading more of them.

      All the best

      Louise
